AFRICAN LINE-DANCING

My sister and I met up with friend Mary in New York and we all flew to Johannesburg, South Africa from JFK. About 35 minutes after we landed, friend Babs' plane arrived and we all stayed overnight at the InterContinental Hotel at the airport. Because of the high crime in the city itself, we toured around the area near the airport. The Emperor's Casino and shopping area was our main focus - it had restaurants and cafes inside in a setting with a sky painted on the ceiling and street scenes that made you feel that you were still outside. We had lunch at a restaurant there called Steers and were very surprised when the country music became rather loud, and the staff started line-dancing (with an African twist). I took a video on my iPhone - the quality isn't the greatest but you get the drift. It was great fun and they received a round of applause from the appreciative customers.

  1. This came out really well, and Babs' arm movements really give it a twist! That was so funny and we were SO tired, remember!!!!?
